Article: “I was an addict” – ‘Straits Times IN’ Section (In The Air Pg 2)
1a) What are some of the earliest signs mentioned in the article to indicate that a person is addicted to gaming?
1b) State some of the methods listed by the author to overcome the addiction to gaming.
2) What are some of your reactions after reading this article? If a close friend of yours confesses to you that he/she is addicted to online games, what would your advice to him/her be?
First he or she would start to skip meals and lost sleep , calling themselves by their avatar name , have constant urge for things that the gamer is crazy over , talk about the game all the time and alsobegin to imagine things . Find some balance by going outdoors more often than staying at home instead of spending time on the computer lock to the chair in the room facing it the whole day , lock the computer so that she would not even go try to use it , start to socialise more often by talking more with the friends in school and also have friends who would constantly remind her not to game . I feel that it is easy for anyone to get addicted to computer gaming as it ie very addictive. If i can use my computer all day , i would just forget all bout the time in the world and be buey gaming the whole day immediately right after school . And constant urge to use the computer will fill my mind like mad and would be tempted to rush home so that i could quickily use the computer the first thing i do when i first reach home . If a close friend of mine confesses that he or she is an addicted online gamer than i would advise him or her to spend more time outdoors as it helps to keep the gamer away from the computer so he would not have the constant urge , tall him the bad effects of gaming like being addicted as he already is and also like he would spoil his eyesight sooner or later and also tall him to quit gaming while he should can if he is going to find it quite hard to get rid of the habit .

Article: “Mum’s Term 2 Week 4 (13th April)

1) What were the reasons given by Facebook parent, Rashida Husian, when she requests access to the networking sites and also to what her children had put online?
2) Do you think it is a good idea to accept requests by your parents to add them readily to your friends’ list on the Facebook? Why?
Keeping track of her children and their friends and keep in touch with them are the reasons given by facebook parent ,when she requests access to the networking sites and also to what her children had put online . Yes i do think so it is a good idea to accept requests by your parents to add them readily to your friends' list on the facebook. It is because facebook is a website like blogs where you can express your feelings and when your parents know about it they would know what to do and they could help you when you have troubles in your heart like offering you advice to give you a better decision to make . When you need a listening ear or someone to talk to then they would always be there to help talk to you no matter how busy they are . It also serves as a line of communication where you can chat or ask anything just like sms . It is there as it makes our lives better and it could help us in many areas . So we should be happy to add our parents on our facebook friends' list as it could be of more use then harm especially when we need them the most .

Question 1: State any two reasons mentioned by students why extra tuition was necessary.
Question 2: Do you think it is necessary for you to have tuition? Why?
So that they can score better for their results and also as they need more attention in class for their particular result . I thinkits neccessary for me to have tuition as when i have anything that i am unclear in class , when i go tuition then i could ask the teacher over there too for answers and explanations on how to do that particular subjects or questions and also take it as an extra supplementary lesson to help myself cope better in class . It would also allow me to have more exposure on the weak subjects that i am not good in . When i m having tuition i also get to meet my friends and hang out around with them . tuition acts as another school session just that we have it at different places and at different time of the day . And it also gives us more time and practise for our upcoming exams so that we would not feel the pressure of the exams when the times comes . So i think that it is neccessary for me to have tuition .

Straits Times E-Forum Reflection (Week 2)Article: “Sharp rise in girls under 16 having sex” – Home Section
Question 1 (you may choose to answer either or both questions):· State any two reasons mentioned in the article which contributes to the sharp rise in girls under 16 having sex.· What are some consequences which a girl might face for engaging in casual sex? '
Question 2What are some of your reactions after reading this article? If one day, a close friend of yours confess to you that he/she has been engaging in sex, what would your advice to him/her be?
The girl could have gotten sexually transmitted diseases from her sex partner , because ot her partner she neglected her studies which could affect her in the future , after having intercourse might get pregnant and by then would not have the financial needs and responsibilties to take good care and feed the baby , cannot find a faithful partner after marriage and if she decide to go an abort the baby she would have lesser chances of getting pregnant again even after marriage in the future when they are ready to have a child . My reactions were shocked as she made it to the headlines and also curious as to why she had choose to do it . I would tell my close friend that he should not have done that as one day his/her partner might get hurt emotionally soon after they did it as the other partner in now pregnant with his baby . I would tell them that its wrong and not the right time . And the guy might go to jail for what he did and tell him never to do it again as our main priority now is to work hard and study for our future so that we would not regret it . And also tell the girl that it is too early to have a baby at her age and also might contract sexually transmitted diseases which could make her have lesser chance of conceiveing another baby in the future .

Question 1:What are some reasons stated in the article why some people choose to have body art like tattoos or piercings done on parts of their boy.
Question 2:(a) What are some impressions you would form of a person whose body is covered with tattoo?
(b) Would you consider getting a tattoo in future? Why?
They find it cool or fun , getting attention of others , different from others and also to be in the latest trend. Most of the impressions would be a gangster as most people who bully with others like to do body piercing and painting which could show how bad a person really is . I would not try to talk to them as i find it hard to sometime face them . Many people would always look out et hose who have the most weird kinds of piercing which make them seem really disgusting as they could go to such extent of piercing their body until it looks like a monster . I would not consider getting a tattoo in the future as it does not look cool and it does not give me or most people a pleasant look . And people with tattoo will find it hard to get good jobs and better pay.

Q1a. According to Mr Pang, what can schools do to make lessons like Physics and Mathematics more ?
interesting to students and relevant to engineering as a carrer?
Q1b. According to MP Ms Lee Bee Wah, what will happen to society if there are no engineers?
Q2. Do you think that 'Creators' will succeed in their mission? Why? Why not? Explain giving your reasons
Mr Pang said that during class , teachers and lectures make the physic and mathematics lesson come alive by showing them what they like , fast cars , animation , explosion. Students will get know how cool engineering can be. And might find the lessons more interesting . MP Lee said it is crucial that Singapore increase its pool of engineers. She said: "Without engineers, there would not be technological progress and advancements. Not only do we need to attract more students to study engineering, but we also need to attract the brightest ones. Otherwise, our society's progress will be done with." I think that ' Creators ' will suceed in their mission . It is because they have teachers who know how to make the lesson interesting and are willing to go the extent of making students more interested on the topic just to keep the lesson going on till the lectures end so that students will not fall asleep in their lectures and also would at least see them paying attention to the lectures . which would help students have a better chance of getting the job in the future .

Article: “Sorry guys, these lots are not for you” – ‘Home’ Section (Pg B1)
Question 1:
What were some of the reasons cited in the article why there was a need to have parking lots for women only in these buildings?
Question 2:
(a) In your opinion, do you think it is necessary to allocate parking lots for women only? Why?
(b) Which group of people do you then feel should be allocated such priority parking? Explain.
It is there to help those with children load and unload bulky prams easily as ti is located near the entrance and as it is also bigger. some of the reasons are because some women would have children of age less than 10 years old or they have elderlies to take care of.
In my opinion , i think it is necessary to allocate parking lots for women only because some families are having a singled parents taking care of their children and elderlies and when they are out going to shop they would need a lot of help like supporting the elderlies to get out of the car and unloading and moving their prams with their children aged 10 years and below by placing them in their prams . i would think that it would most probably be them because they have a heavy burden they have to take care of so they are going to need more attention as all the heavy responsiblity have been pinned onto them .they would need help with their resposibilties like taking care of their young children making sure that they do not get lost , helping the elders making sure that they do not injure themselves and fall down so as to save on their medical costs that they do not have to spend on and also at the same time not do any damage to thier own car in the process so that they would have lesser costs to spend on for their cars like they alredy have monthly or so. with this new specially parking lots allocated to them it would help lessen their burden a lot as it would also be a great help to them so that it would not further the damage .
